Alpha Theta
On Friday, April 10, 2009, Alpha Theta pledge class was initiated under the leadership of Magister John Vitale.
Meet Alpha Theta:
1. Victor Alexander Ukmar [Pledge-class President]
I was born in a Bavarian city called Nuremberg in 1986. It is a typical mediaeval city with a big castle on top of a hill that oversees everything. I grew up speaking three different languages, since my father is Italian and my mother is French. Basically, you can say I grew up among those three cultures. Every summer we used to go to Italy to meet up with the family and every winter we used to go to Paris to see my grandma; during the year I went to school in Germany. At home, we would always switch between three languages. Needless to say, foreign cultures and travelling have always attracted me. I travelled to many different countries and learned a lot about their history and social customs. We made a lot of vacations to the United States and that might be the reason why I decided to move to America and start college here. I always loved the American culture for its entertainment. I am a big movie fan and appreciate the art of filmmaking. Art in general has always interested me: Film, Music, Magic, Concerts etc. After graduation, I plan to apply to law school and to become a lawyer. I guess I still kinda try to live after the American Dream where anything is possible. I am sure being in Sigma Chi will prepare me to be a strong member of our society and to be a better and stronger person.
2. Mike Gill [Pledge-class Vice-President]
I’m all about being easy going and having a good time, always down for whatever; I’m not afraid to meet new people and I am welcoming towards anyone that greets me. I listen to all kinds of music, but I prefer to listen to metal.
My Favorite Films include the following:
Reservior Dogs, Pulp Fiction, The Princess Bride, Robinhood: Men In Tights, Goodfellas, The Godfather, The Goonies, Billy Madison, Wayne's World, Monty Python and The Holy Grail, American History X, One Flew Over The Cukoo's Nest, Sin City, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, Forest Gump, Blow, The Departed, The Shining,
I hope my gregarious and welcoming personality will advance the interests of Sigma Chi.
3. Ervin Cani [Pledge-class Secretary]
I’m a freshman at FDU. I am currently studying as a business management major with hopes to minor in film. I like to be a part of many different events. I play many different sports including soccer, tennis, baseball, and many others. I like to act and have been a part of many theater productions. My dream is to one day be a film director and possibly own my own film company. I also love to act in film productions so that is also an interest for me. I joined Sigma Chi because I thought this was something that would be very meaningful in college. I’m not one of those guys who usually walks up to someone to start a conversation so I think this will also make me much more social. I also think it’s a nice idea to have friends for life as opposed to just people you hang out with at school and never speak to again after. In general, I’m a really fun guy and I love to make people laugh.

Chapter Update
The following chapter update was update was published in the Magazine of Sigma Chi:
The past semester was a truly eventful one! We initiated three great men into our brotherhood: Rich Passanisi, 2011; Jon Giuliano, 2009; and Mike Dorso, 2011. We also held our inaugural "Rockstravaganza," which raised almost $500 for Huntsman Cancer Institute. We also contributed to the Interfaith Food Pantry, in Morristown, N.J., and to the FoodBank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties, in Neptune, N.J., raising more than $2,500, respectively. Personal accolades also were achieved, Troy McClellan, 2010, was nominated and elected to the position of secretary for IFC. We plan to hold our annual "Rocks, Paper, Scissors Tournament" and "Rockstravaganza" events.
-Scott Neuberger, 2010
